SANTALUZ
occupies 4000 acres in the San Dieguito River Valley. Adjacent
to Fairbanks Ranch, it will be the same density as the RSF Covenant
(1 home per 4 acres). Located within the Poway School District
, the zip code will be 92127.
The
elevation ranges from 200 feet to 800 feet and SANTALUZ has made
a commitment to preserving the diverse terrain. There are 1,000
acres of open space, dramatic ridge lines, deep ravines and gentle
hillsides. 80% of the dwellings will have some view. The intention
is to create a rustic village that is respectful of the land.
The result will be a natural, native California landscape with
color and green - not desert but not ornamental.
To
enhance the feeling of living with nature, the home sites will
be circular: 20 different home styles ranging from 2000-7000 square
feet in all different configurations with the land running through
it, carefully sculpted to blend with its natural environment.
Consequently, there will be 200-300 feet between homes. In addition
to custom home sites, six guest builders' homes will be interspersed
throughout SANTALUZ to build a greater sense of community. One
third to one half of the housing will be single story. Home prices
will range from $600,000 - $5,000,000.
The
entire community will be gated: everyone entering Santaluz will
pass through the gate. The center of the community will be an
11-acre village green, a gathering spot for community gatherings,
concerts-on-the-lawn, etc. Behind the village green will be a
19,000 square foot community building (single story), including
a gymnasium, a multipurpose room, workout facilities, pool, and
cafe/coffee house. Behind the community building will be 6 tennis
courts and a 35,000 square foot clubhouse and private golf course.
This is a community with a private club, offering social, golf,
and community interaction.
