Almost
two years before Fairbanks Ranch Country Club opened, the Club was
assured a unique place in history when the golf course, then undeveloped,
was selected as the site of the 1984 Olympic Equestrian Endurance
Event. Since that time, Fairbanks Ranch Country Club has become
a magnificent recreational and social enclave that is destined to
become one of the most renowned country clubs in America. Still
standing and preserved in memory of the Olympics, are some of the
dramatic equestrian jumps confronted by the Olympic riders. "Victory's
Gate," the bronze sculpture created to commemorate the 1984
Olympics at Fairbanks Ranch, remains as a permanent work of art
at the Club's entrance.
Established
in 1984 on the site of the Olympic Equestrian Endurance Event, Fairbanks
Ranch Country Club is a distinctly private, member-owned Club consisting
of the most prominent business, professional and social personalities
of the community. Part of the peaceful, beautiful, and prestigious
community of Rancho Santa Fe, the Club is located near the Pacific
Ocean, Del Mar Race Track and all of the attractions and conveniences
of the city of San Diego.
The
championship course at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club has attracted
widespread attention as one of America's finest golf facilities.
One of the most imaginative ever created by internationally known
course architect Ted Robinson, this 7,220 yard all-weather 18 hole
course includes undulating topography, 30 acres of lakes and a number
of Olympic jumps that were used in the 1984 equestrian endurance
event. The course has five sets of tees, which provide an excellent
test to any golfer's skill.
A
staff of highly qualified golf professionals keep the membership
active with weekly golf events, golf days and major member/guest
tournaments throughout the year. Juniors are kept busy with weekly
clinics and events tailored specifically for the young golfer.
